#6: Digital Storytelling

1) Write brief reviews about the two tools you used to create short lessons with this week (Digital Storytelling through Storybooks, Cartoons & Comics).

Storybird is a really fun resource for students to create their own stories. Students can look through the site, become inspired by the art and then creat a short story that match the illustrations provided. They can then be saved and printed.

Zimmer Twins is the site for creating animation, especially for kids. There are two categories to sign up : Kids&Families - Educators & Schools . It must be an educational site.
Users can create their own animation by selecting characters, effects, background, and so on.

2) How could these tools be used by teachers AND students? How could they be incorporated into a class?

Zimmer Twins website allows kids to use their imagination and exercise their storytelling powers. This gives students opportunity add their personality when making a movie which motivates them and help improve their language skills at the same time.
If teachers use Zimmer Twins as a story starter and then students finish the story with their imagination and creativity, it would be the best educational way.

Storytelling can be an interesting option using Storybird. Teachers have their students work in teams and assemble a story following a main question or topic. For young learners, publishing their writing can be a good reward.

Students can improve their writing skills to create script to achieve their storytelling goal. Through typed words in speech or thought bubbles, students can make their imagination to be real situation. These activities must be helpful for creative thinking.
