- Prezi is a presentation tool that helps you organize and share your ideas.
- Prezi allows users to show their audience how their entire pesentation fits together, and then users can zoom into the details. This will allow your audience to see the big picture while you foucus on the details. The presenter can present the information in such an interesting manner.
- Prezi makes it easy to attach media files, such as YouTube videos into your presentations.
- Prezi offer free accounts to teachers and students. This 'Enjoy' account comes with the extra options.
2. Describe the presentation or activity you created using the tool. Provide a link to the location of your embedded presentation on your Google Site.

This is for young learner's vocabulary activity.
I will share the Prezi with students for their post collaborative work.
After they learn the vocabulary of countries and nationalities, they will add some photos, video or texts on the Prezi I used in the class. During the activity, they will expose the target vocabulary and relevant meaningful content, as well as negociation skill with peers.
In addition to that, they will learn how to use the Prezi tool.
3. Describe your experience using the tool. Would you recommend it to other teachers? Why or why not?
The most attractive feature of Prezi is zooming. This is totally different from linear pattern like in Power Point. You can draw lines showing how they connect to each other. This helped arrange the layout of graphics and texst in a meaningful way.
However, I struggled to design my own lesson by using that concept properly. It was difficult for me to draw big picutre and organize concept mapping. Also, all funtions are unfamiliar because I'm used to Powerpoint. I think other teachers will also have similar experience at the first time.
It can be a time consuming for teachers to learn and use a new tool.
Neverthelss, I highly recommend using Prezi in the class. It would be a good teaching tool for visual learners. And that, I personally believe that it is not about just using a new tool, it may be a new way of presenting and teaching.
There are many reasons for this.
It can be explained by the advantages below and the description of potential in #4.
- Presentations - lead your audience on a visual journey.
- Meetings - collaborate in real time, across time zones.
- Mobility - from the cloud, desktop, iPad, or iPhone.
4. Describe potential uses the tool could have in the Korean EFL learning context.
Let us start by considering the facts about the Korean EFL learning context.
In my opinion, the Korean education system has some problems such as mainly lecturing, less participating so that this lead to passive learning. Also, cooperation is not common for students as well as teachers.
I will describe the potential uses of Prezi in both perspectives for teachers and students.
First, Korean EFL learning tend to be through teacher-centered leture. Unlike traditional presentator, Prezi is not desinged for lenghty text boxes so teachers can avoid boring presentation with tons of text. Additionally, because Prezi allows for more than one user edit a project, this web application is great for student-centered learning. Students can work collaboratively and simultaneously from school or home. It must be more easy for using a cloud-based software in Korea because most of schools have high speed Internet service and students have their own smart devices.
Next, Prezi offer special account for educators and have share-ability and reusability. This means Prezi has many advantage for teachers who are willing to share good presentations. These collaborative nature of the web application allows Korean teachers to get feedback not only from their collegues but also from teachers all over the world.
For this reason, I'd like to suggest that teachers use Prezi for the interactive tool rather than just replacing Powerpoint.
